snow storm

The winter we found ourselves with temperatures down to 0' F, snow storms, freezing rain, along with many school closings. This is about what the whole country looked like! Here's some photos of the few times we ventured outside

A day in kansas city

"Enjoy the little things in life, for one day you'll look back and realize they were big things" -Robert Brault
We stopped at a little boutique mall in Kansas City called Crockrell. There were 4 of these little shops that sold many different household decorations and kitchenware. They sold different household knick-knacks and also jams and spices. There was one shop with many different kinds of teas, it was my favorite. The area had a very vintagey and urban feel to it. It was all very cute. :)

Colorful outlet covers

I hate my old and plain outlet covers in my room. So, to make them look great and not such a hassle to hide, I painted them! I used simple acrylic paint and sharpie to create the designs, and of course paint brushes. It's best to unscrew them and take them off before you paint them; that would be way too difficult to color on.

I like this one the best but they both look good!
However, they won't last long if you touch/rub them a lot. They scratch fairly easily so you may have to give them a touch-up sooner or later, especially if you decorate light switch covers.
Well best of luck if you want to make one! (Also, a great way to take it off if you mess up or don't like it is magic eraser)

how to get smudges off your mac

How to get smudges off your mac

Today I got pencil smudges on the top of my mac and I tried to use some water on a paper towel and it wouldn't come off. So I was looking for things to use and got a magic eraser. It worked like a charm!

I also ended up cleaning the keyboard with it too!

snow in may!

We were surprised in the Ozarks this morning to find that it was snowing! But the surprising part is that it is May!! The first 3 days of this week we felt the beginning of summer, enjoying 80 degree weather, but it changed so drastically to below freezing! I think it's safe to say that mother nature here is very moody this week 

Baking a bunny

My sister LOVES bunnies and bread (who doesn't) and today is her birthday. So, I found this recipe to make one! It is at
http://www.cookistry.com/2012/04/bunny-bread.html
It turned out PERFECT. The only thing I changed was how long I baked it. The recipe calls for 40 minutes but I only went 25.
They are great for Easter and bunny-lovers! Although, slicing it up was the least enjoyable part.

DIY design leggings

I wanted to wear my cute fish net tights but it was a little too chilly so I layered them on top of a pair of plain black leggings! And it just looked like a pair of leggings you would buy at the store! I wore a long t-shirt dress socks and a pair of flats. You could also just wear boots if you don't like the socks and shoes look :) But I was warm and cute, and I still got to wear my tights!
